Vanilla Panna Cotta
Vanilla Panna Cotta
This vanilla panna cotta recipe is super simple – with only 5 ingredients! It’s super creamy and light and is a brilliant Italian dessert for a dinner party or a date night.
I’ve made mine with a fresh vanilla pod to get maximum flavour, but you could add vanilla bean paste instead (you’ll need about 1/2 tsp). No vanilla extract please!
Note the recipe doesn’t include the chocolate top and pouring cream – this was just something a little extra for Instagram 😂. You could pair it with a berry sauce, some fresh fruit, or some whipped cream. Or simply enjoy it as is.
Wastch the video and follow the step-by-step recipe for this delicious vanilla bean panna cotta.

Looks delicious! Do you have to use gelatin leaves? Can granulated gelatin be used ?
I generally convert roughly 1 sheet of gelatin to 3g of gelatin powder. But you can google ‘gelatin conversion chart’ and that can help give you a guide too!
What would I do if I wanted to turn them out on to a plate, use a flavourless oil, or like almond oil or something?
You can set them in a metal dariole mold, then gently warm them in a bath off hot water and flip them out onto a plate!
Panna cotta is one of the most underrated desserts. Ever. Choosing between pie and panna cotta gives me heart palpitations.
If we wanted to make the chocolate disc (as that looks stunning) is it a simple recipe?
Also the pouring cream, is it a warm custard? 🙏
It is just tempered chocolate – slightly challenging to make but totally possible! Yes I used warm custard 🙂
